LACEY, NJ - On October 27, 2008 at 9:27 a.m. the Forked River Fire Department was dispatched to Tappan Street on the report of a person trapped under a vehicle.
Fire Chief Kevin Flynn, Engine 6021, Brush Truck 6029 and Lacey EMS responded to the scene. On arrival, units found a forty-two year old female pinned under a minivan. Firefighters used air bags from Engine 6021 to lift the vehicle off of the woman.
Lacey EMS and Monoc Paramedics evaluated and attended to her injuries. She was transported to a landing zone set up at the Lacey Municipal Complex by Engine 6001. Monoc 1 then flew her to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune.
According to Lacey Police, a four-year toddler accidentally shifted the minivan into gear running over his mother. The incident is still under investigation.
