Bayville Fire Department responds to structure fire

On November 11, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. the Bayville Fire Department was dispatched to North Bay Drive on the report of a working structure fire. Initial fire units found heavy fire coming from a vacant house.

Chief Ken Anderson immediately requested mutual aid. An engine from Pinewald Fire, Lanoka Harbor Fire and a FAST Team from Forked River Fire responded to the scene.

Operations were hampered by excessive storage in the vacant house making it difficult to extinguish the fire. Using a defensive attack the fire was brought under control.

No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation by the Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office.
