Father’s Day structure fire in Forked River

After the fire crews take time to rehabilitate.

On June 15, 2008 at 11:21 am the Forked River Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a possible structure fire on Station Road. On arrival Chief Kevin Flynn found heavy smoke and fire coming from the structure. He immediately called for mutual aid and a FAST team from the Bayville Fire Department.
The crew from Engine 6031 made an aggressive interior attack containing the fire to the utility room. The crew from Engine 6041 set up ventilation operations and Engine 6001 established a water supply.
Units from the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department, Bamber Lakes Fire Department and Lacey EMS also responded.
The investigation revealed that the cause of the fire was due to contents left by the water heater.
