MONTAGUE, NJ - On the evening of March 5, 2010 the Montague Fire Department was dispatched to an address on River Road for an activated fire alarm. While units were en-route to the alarm call, they were also dispatched to a reported rollover with entrapment on River Road. Montague Chief 1 requested Milford, PA Rescue to the scene of the rollover and Sandyston Fire Police to shut down River Road at State Highway 206.
Montague Engine 2 and Support responded to the scene of the rollover while other units checked out the fire alarm call which turned out to be a false alarm. At this time Montague Fire first responders and Blue Ridge Rescue were also dispatched to a medical call in the High Point Country Club. Additional units responded to that call as well.
Montague Fire units made contact with the trapped patient in the rollover. There were no serious injuries. Milford Rescue 33 removed the driver door with the jaws so Montague and Blue Ridge units could remove the patient from the vehicle.
A special thanks to all Montague, Sandyston, Milford and Blue Ridge members for their assistance with the multiple incidents.
The New Jersey State Police is still investigating the cause of the accident. Montague units stayed on scene until the vehicle was towed.
