MVA takes out pole

Fire and police stand by while electric company checks condition of pole.

DERRY, NH - On Saturday afternoon, March 6, 2010 Derry firefighters responded to a reported car into a pole in the area of 12 Gulf Road, with wires and a pole down.

First on scene Derry Engine 2 reported a car on its roof with a pole leaning with wires down and a possible person injured. Police and firefighters shut down the road to all traffic and requested the electric company.

The single person in the car was transported to a area hospital with non life threating injuries and crews stood by for the power company to secure the pole.

The accident is being investigated by the Derry Police and the road was shut down for several hours until the pole could be replaced.
