ROCHESTER, NH - The Lowe’s Store located on Washington Street in the City of Rochester held a community safety day on Saturday, September 26, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The event had several public safety and community organizations displaying their equipment.
Police, Rescue and Fire Departments from Rochester, Dover, Alton, Wakefield, New Hampshire and Lebanon Rescue in Maine had equipment on display for children and their families. New Hampshire State Police was also at the safety day.
Lowes had several safety handouts and the children really liked the build your own wooden fire trucks.
Several community groups were also on hand to give out information to the community.
Children took tours of the Rochester Fire Departments smoke trailer, rode the Dover Police Departments convincer seat belt simulator, saw the 6x6 off road rescue vehicle owned by Lebanon, Maine Rescue, saw one of the Harley Davidson patrol motorcycles from Rochester Police Department, pet one of the police K-9’s from Rochester Police and the New Hampshire State Police.
