BERWICK, ME - The Berwick PTO sponsored their second annual Touch a Truck event on a beautiful fall Saturday afternoon. The event was held at the Hussey School in Berwick on Saturday, November 7, 2009 from noon to 2:00 p.m.
Dozens of trucks were on display.
Admission was free for families. Beranger Volkswagon of Rochester held a test drive event which donated $5 to the Berwick PTO for anyone who took a test drive. Children were treated to free ice cream thanks to North East Ice Cream.
RE/MAX Coast to Coast offered tethered hot air balloon rides which were a huge crowd pleaser.
The Berwick Fire Department Ladder Truck was on display and kids loved the lights and sirens.
Lebanon Rescue had one of its command vehicles and the departments 6x6 off road rescue vehicle on display. South Berwick Rescue 2 and two ambulances from AMR were on display, including their new bariatric ambulance.
The Lindt Gold Bunny Car handed out free chocolate.
Lee Motor Speedway Rookie of the Year Ryan Green and his racing family.was on hand and showed off his vehicle.
Some of the vehicles on display included Independent Concrete Pumping, Hannaford Trucking, AMR, South Berwick Rescue, Tanguay Racing, Green Racing Family, Brown Truck Racing, Pepin Concrete, Hall’s Bros Roofing, Waste Management, SUR Construction, L & S Equipment, Beranger VW, Depot Honda, P. Gagnon and Sons, Berwick Police, Berwick Fire, Berwick Highway Dept, Kittery PD, Lebanon Rescue, Boulanger Paving, Great Works Well Drilling, Cass Towing, Sanford Armory, SAD 60 Transportation Dept, NorthEast Ice Cream LLC, Lindt Chocolate, RE/MAX Coast to Coast, Uno’s Chicago Grill, The Meathouse, Todd’s Touch, Maine Dept of Transportation and more.
Kids were treated to safety bags, helmets and stickers from Lebanon Rescue and fire helmets from Berwick Fire. Waste Management also handed out yellow hard hats.
The event seemed to be a huge success and the kids had a great time.
