Rollover Accident on Carl Broggi Highway
The Lebanon Rescue Department, York County Sheriff's Department and Lebanon Fire Department responded to a rollover motor vehicle accident on Carl Broggi Highway in front of the Evergreen Mobile Home Park in South Lebanon. The accident was reported at 6:47am on Saturday morning, May 2nd, 2009.
When emergency crews arrived on scene about 5 minutes after the call was received, they located a 1997 Ford F-150 off the road and lying on its roof in the ditch. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was out walking around when emergency crews arrived on scene.
"The driver reportedly took his eyes off the road for a quick second and when he looked up, he was going off the road and then the truck rolled over. He was very fortunate to be wearing his seatbelt and the airbags deployed. Besides being shook up from the accident, he walked away from the crash uninjured. He was treated by Lebanon Rescue personnel and released" Assistant Chief and Public Information Officer Jason Cole added.
The vehicle was totaled in the accident and had to be towed from the scene.
This accident occurred in a stretch of road that has seen several serious accidents, including a fatal accident that occurred within a mile of it yesterday.
Deputy Gil Hudson of the York County Sheriff's Department is investigating the accident.
Rescue crews remained on scene until the vehicle was removed and cleared around 8am.
Responding to the scene was Lebanon Ambulance and Command Vehicle from Lebanon Rescue, an Engine from Lebanon Fire and the York County Sheriffs Department.
