This 2001 Chevrolet Malibu rolled over resulting in one minor injury
By Jason Cole
LEBANON, ME - The Lebanon Rescue Department, Lebanon Fire Department and York County Sheriff's Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injury on Thursday, March 4th, 2010.
The accident was reported around 7:12 a.m. and was located on Center Road near the intersection of Carl Broggi Highway.
Assistant Chief Jason Cole was the first unit on scene and located a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu on its roof in the ditch. Both the driver and her child were out of the vehicle.
"When we arrived on scene, the driver and her 19-month-old child were out of the vehicle and in a bystanders vehicle. The mom was able to get her child out of the car seat and to safety. Fortunately the mom was wearing her seatbelt and the child was secured properly in a car seat." Assistant Chief Jason Cole advised.
"The mom got distracted for a split second by the child and went off the side of the road and subsequently the vehicle rolled over onto its roof into the ditch. She was going slow at the time of the accident. The driver was evaluated for a minor injury and did not require transport to the hospital."
The driver of the vehicle was a 22-year-old female from Center Lebanon, Maine.
Center Road was closed to one lane while emergency crews worked at the scene.
Sergeant Roger Hicks of the York County Sheriff's Department is investigating the accident.
All units cleared the scene at 8:10 a.m.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
