LEBANON, ME - The Lebanon Rescue Department, York County Sheriff's Department and Lebanon Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle accident with unknown injuries at the corner of Carl Broggi Highway and the West Lebanon Road. The incident occurred on Saturday, June 20, 2009 and was reported about 11:17 a.m.
Lebanon Rescue Driver Rick Elliott and Lieutenant Diane Elliott heard the crash and ran to the scene to check on injuries. They located two vehicles involved and no injuries reported.
"It was reported that a 2005 Honda Civic was coming off Hubbard Road and went to cross Carl Broggi Highway to go onto the West Lebanon Road, when it collided with a GMC Truck hauling a boat that was coming off West Lebanon Road and taking a left onto the Carl Broggi Highway. Both vehicles had green lights. Fortunately it was a low speed collision and no one was hurt." Assistant Chief Jason Cole advised. "This is the second accident at this intersection in the past 19 hours. We usually do not see a lot of accidents at this intersection since they put in the traffic light."
The driver of the Honda Civic was a 29-year-old male from Lebanon.
The driver of the GMC truck was a 58-year-old male, also from Lebanon.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
Sergeant Roger Hicks of the York County Sheriff's Department is investigating the incident.
Lebanon Rescue units cleared the scene around 11:50 a.m.
