LEBANON, ME - The Lebanon Rescue Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Friday night, July 31, 2009. The accident was reported around 9:15pm and was located on Carl Broggi Highway in Center Lebanon by Tommy's Take Out Restaurant. "It was reported that a 2000 GMC Sierra pick-up truck was traveling westbound on Carl Broggi Highway when it was struck from behind by a 2002 Subaru Outback. Both vehicles were in motion at the time of the accident. A 40 year old female from Lebanon passenger of the GMC pick-up truck was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries. She was conscious and alert at the time she was transported. Her husband, a 55 year old male from Lebanon, was evaluated at the scene and did not require to be transported to the hospital. The driver of the Subaru refused any medical attention and was released to the custody of the Maine State Police." Assistant Chief Jason Cole advised. Captain Natasha Kinney was the command officer of the scene. The two occupants of the 2000 GMC truck were wearing their seatbelts. It is unknown if the driver of the Subaru was wearing his seatbelt. Both vehicles suffered heavy damage and were towed from the scene. The Maine State Police are investigating the accident. Crews were on scene until 10:06 p.m.
