LEBANON, ME - The Lebanon Rescue Department, Maine State Police and Lebanon Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injury on Saturday morning, October 24, 2009. The accident was located on Indian Lake Drive, about one mile in from the River Road.
The accident was reported at 8:50 a.m.
When emergency crews arrived on scene, they located a 1990 Cadillac sedan that had gone off the road and struck a small clump of trees.
“When emergency crews arrived on scene, the 17-year-old female driver advised she had leaned over to get an item she had dropped and when off the road. The vehicle did not have airbags due to its age, but she advised she was wearing her seatbelt. The patient was extricated by rescue personnel on a backboard and then loaded into Lebanon Rescue 1, and transported with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries to Goodall Hospital in Sanford. “ Assistant Chief and PIO Jason Cole advised.
The patient was transported by Lebanon Rescue 1 at the paramedic level.
The driver was a 17-year-old female from Lee, New Hampshire. She was alone in the vehicle.
Milton Ambulance also responded to the scene as their station is near where the accident is located and they respond automatically to all medical calls in this area of town.
Traffic was re-routed down a side road while emergency crews worked at the scene.
Emergency Crews were on scene for about forty-five minutes.
Responding to the scene was Lebanon Rescue 1 and a EMS Command Truck from Lebanon Rescue, Milton, NH Ambulance 1, Lebanon Engine 2 and the Maine State Police.
The Maine State Police are investigating the accident.
