CLEAR SPRING, MD - Around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday January 4, 2009 the Clear Spring Vol. Fire Co and Clear Spring Ambulance were dispatched to the 11200 block of Dam #5 Road for a single vehicle accident.
Units arrived on the scene to find a pickup truck several hundred yard into a field and in a stream. The situation was complicated by the fact that the driver was entrapped in the truck and Rescue Squad 4 was unable to get close because of the terrain.
Firefighters loaded portable extrication equipment into the fire company's 4x4 utility and hauled the needed tools to the rescue site. The patient was removed from the vehicle and transported to the Washington County Hospital by Clear Spring Ambulance in unknown condition.
