Williamsport, MD - At 11:49 hrs on July 20, the Washington County 9-1-1 center began receiving reports of a house fire on Fenton Ave. in Williamsport. The initial box assignment brought units from Williamsport Fire and Rescue, Halfway Fire and Clear Spring Fire.
Capt. Will Ball of Williamsport Fire and Rescue marked on the scene with Ladder 2 at 11:55 hrs and reported a working fire and requested a Working Fire Assignment and established Fenton Ave. Command.
Crews made a strong interior and exterior attack as soon as they arrived. Command reported “fire through the roof at 12:12 hrs and within less than 5 minutes was able to report the fire knocked down in the cock-loft area. By 12:42 the fire was under control. All units remained on the scene for extensive overhaul and property conservation. Additional manpower was requested from Longmeadow and Maugansville Fire companies to assist with this function.
At 13:44 hrs., Capt. Ball reported “Fire Out” and terminated command.
Units on the scene were: ( Williamsport -Ladder 2, E21, E23, UT2, M291), ( Halfway E262), ( Clear Spring E41, RS4), ( Funkstown E102, RS10), Fairplay E121), Air Unit 251, Rehab 255, FM26, ( DFES 1802 ), ( *Longmeadow E271) and ( *Maugansville UT13). ( * Manpower only )
