Boonsboro, MD- On January 16th, a quiet afternoon for Boonsboro Fire Company came to an end Monday afternoon when Washington County Dispatch took a call for a Mobile Home Fire around 15:30 hours. Fire crews were immediately dispatched out for the House fire at 21364 Mount Lena Road off of the National Pike. Reports given by dispatch described a working fire when Frederick County received a call reporting flames coming from the roof of the structure.
First arriving crews confirmed a working fire and dispatch immediately started the county working fire assignment. Firefighters were able to conduct an aggressive attack resulting in a quick knock down of the fire. A majority of the crews on the call were able to clear shortly after knock down once overhaul was complete and the fire was deemed out.
Firefighters from Boonsboro and Mount Aetna remained on the scene for a short time while FM26 (Deputy Ernest) conducted his investigation. It was later reported that the fire was believed to be electrical in nature. A woman who lived there came home to discover the fire but was not home when it started and did not sustain any injuries.
Crews from Boonsboro were assisted by Mount Aetna Fire, Myersville Fire, Funkstown Fire, Wolfsville Fire, Smithsburg Fire, Boonsboro Rescue, Washington County Air Unit, Washington County Special Operations 20, and FM26 from the State Fire Marshals Office.
