Engine 65 at County Road 501 Roll-Over
BAYFIELD, CO – On November 24th, 2007 at 1836 hours, the Upper Pine Fire District was dispatched to a one vehicle roll-over accident in the 2000 block of County Road 501. Units arrived to find a white Dodge pick-up truck that had rolled four times before coming to rest approximately 200 feet up an embankment. Witnesses reported that the pick-up truck was traveling at a high rate of speed just prior to it leaving the road and rolling uphill.
After the vehicle was stabilized, fire personnel provided treatment to the driver and passenger, who had self-extricated from the truck prior to the arrival of responders. Both were transported to Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango. The accident is being investigated by the Colorado State Patrol.
