Investigating the Remains of the Vehicle
IGNACIO, CO – On January 3rd, 2006 at approximately 0454 hours the Los Pinos Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire in the area of the 12 mile marker on County Road 318. First arriving units found a well involved 1990 Ford Pick-Up Truck that had been converted to a flat bed. Firefighters were able to contain the fire with a 1.75” hand-line shortly after arrival.
The truck had been parked at the start of a long driveway at 5852 County Road 318, next to the highway, to advertise the vehicle for sale. Los Pinos Fire Engine Eighty-One, Tanker Eighty-One, and Chief 803 responded to this incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Los Pinos Fire District and the LaPlata County Sheriff’s Office.
