Hello all,

Need a little help with radios.
I am looking to outfit my company's rescue truck with new mobile radios. I would like to put 2 mobile radios in the truck. But I am looking for both of them to be Motorolas. My company purchased 35 HT 1250 and I just found out that the mobile version CDM 1250 does not come with a dual head control.
The reason for the dual head is to have a the main radio mounted in the front of the cab with the second head mounted towards the rear of the truck.
Does anyone know if Motorola has any newer mobile radio versions that have dual heads? I am looking for alpha display and pre identifier capability for VHF.
If anyone can help me out. I would appreciate it.

You might have to upgrade into the XTS models the one you might find the easiest is the XTS 5000

There is a company out there called Quickmount that makes an after market kit to convert the CDM series radios to dual head, but they have had some issues and I wouldn't (personally) use one on my apparatus. If you want a proven, reliable dual head radio, go Kenwood. they have been doing it for years and they make a great product for your money. EXCELLENT support after the sale too. Just my $0.02
