Incident Description: While working at the scene of a motor vehicle accident with fire, Firefighter Blankenship was seriously injured when a tree at the scene fell on top of him. Firefighters quickly removed the tree from Blankenship and rendered medical aid. Blankenship was then transported to the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
