Incident Description: Firefighter Groover collapsed while operating on the second floor interior of a burning residential structure. A Mayday was sounded and Groover was quickly removed from the building by fellow firefighters. He was then transported to a local medical center but did not survive the injuries sustained in the incident. An investigation into the circumstances of the fire and Groover’s death is underway by local and state authorities.
