2 People Transported from Structure Fire in City of Newburgh

NEWBURGH, NY - Newburgh FD responded to 22-24 City Terrace on the morning of May 4th. Units arrived and found smoke and fire in a residence and a second-alarm was transmitted, sending West Point FD, Air National Guard FD and Cronomer Valley FD to the scene.


Newburgh FD had their ladder to the roof area while firefighters used handlines on the roof and inside the residence to knock the fire down. At the 20-minute status check, crews were still working on knocking the fire down. Central Hudson was called to the scene for a power cut.


Two occupants were transported to Montefiore-St. Luke's Hospital by Empress EMS. At the 40-minute status check, the bulk of the fire was knocked down.


Origin/Cause Fire Investigator NFD was called to the scene. Deputy Orange County Coordinator 36-13 was also at the scene. The fire is under investigation.
