PLYMOUTH, NH - On April 20th, a three-alarm fire gutted two buildings in downtown Plymouth on Main Street. Around 9:20 P.M., numerous calls came into the Lakes Region Mutual Aid Communications center reporting that the "Flying Monkey Movie house and Performance" building was on fire, and flames could be seen coming from the roof.

The theatre had a full house with a crowd of 450 guests, and was evacuated safely after a worker pulled the fire alarm system. The fire was discovered next door in two vacant commercial buildings and not in the theater. First due firefighters arrived with heavy fire in the rear of the buildings as a 2nd and 3rd alarm was transmitted.

Both of the buildings were destroyed in the fire, and neighboring buildings only sustained minor smoke damage, including the theatre. Firefighters battled the fire for hours and no injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation.
