The Cambridge Auxillary Fire Department operated this 1972 American LaFrance Pioneer as Lightning Plant 2. This unique apparatus previously ran as an Engine Company in Burlington Mass.
Dozens of Cambridge Firefighters worked with CAFD, a division of Emergency Management, before getting "on the job". Many rose through the ranks to become Lieutenants, Captains, and Chief officers. The Auxiliary was disbanded in 2016.
