The Windsor Fire Department has recently added a complete set of Hurst EDraulic extrication equipment to Squad 61. The cutter is a S799 model that has an operating pressure of 10,000 psi with a maximum opening of 8.03 inched. The spreader is a SP555 that has a maximum spreading force of 147,924 foot pounds and a maximum distance of 28.7 inches. Both of these tools can be directly plugged into a 110 volt power source for periods of continued operation. The ram is a R522 EWXT model that can extend up to 59.2 inches and operates with 7,250 PSI. These tools were obtained through a Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation Grant.
