Around 11:30 am April 24, Newton Fire received a call for a house fire at 8 Center Avenue up one block for Engine 4. With in minutes, a second alarm was transmitted bring mutual and from Waltham and surrounding towns. The fire was difficult to extinguish which prompted a third alarm. It took more than 3 hours to contain it.
